The Berlin highlights of „Tanz mit mir!“ were the presentations at the 23. Nisan International Children’s Festival at the Brandenburg Gate (April 2014), at the Open Day of the then Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (August 2014), at the capital representative office of Deutsche Telekom (September 2014), at the action day “Inclusion & Diversity” at Potsdamer Platz and at the Brandenburg Gate (July 2015 and April 2017), at the FestiWal at FEZ Berlin and the festival “48 Stunden Neukölln” (June 2016).
The German-French student exchange project “Danse avec moi!” was an other very special highlight of „Tanz mit mir!“. At the end of November 2014, the children from Berlin exchanged ideas with their Parisian peers for the first time virtually, via live online connection during the European Education Fair “Salon Européen de l’éducation” In the following months, the children remained in lively contact and prepared their upcoming “live” encounter in Paris with great zeal. And then it finally started: on April 19, 2015, ten 6th grade students from Gesundbrunnen Elementary School set off for Paris to meet their hosts, a mixed group of students. The meeting place was the sports facility “Le CREPS d’Île-de-France” in a beautiful green suburb of Paris and the recreational animation center “Centre Louis Lumière”. With the joint dance workshops, which the children themselves recorded on video, and exciting joint excursions through the French metropolis, the time flew by. Saying goodbye on April 25, 2015 was difficult for everyone, but each of the participants in “Danse avec moi!” was able to take home unforgettable experiences.
“Danse avec moi!” was initiated and organized by the French educational organization “La Ligue de l’enseignement” and by the LUNA PARK initiative in cooperation with the Gesundbrunnen Elementary School and the Centre Français de Berlin. The project was supported by funding from the Franco-German Youth Office (DFJW), Deutsche Telekom’s “Ich kann was” initiative and benefits for education and participation from the City of Berlin.
Since 2020, “Tanz mit mir!” has been continued as part of the project TANZ UND THEATER IM QUARTIER.
