For young children, the transition from kindergarten to elementary school is no small feat, but a very big event! It’s fortunate when they have the opportunity to see what a school looks like even before their first day. Even better is when they don’t just look around but can actively participate themselves!

For this purpose, the Initiative LUNA PARK has been regularly organizing dance and movement classes for children’s groups from kindergartens around the Gesundbrunnen Primary School for over ten years, particularly in the projects “Tanzt kunterbunt!” and “Tanzformen”. The goal is to promote the children’s motor and cognitive development, helping them acquire individual and social skills that will ease their transition into new life phases. The children are guided and supported by dedicated dance educators and professional dance artists. At the same time, the Gesundbrunnen Primary School organizes dance courses for its first-grade students, where kindergarten children and first graders regularly come together to dance with and for each other.

A colorful selection of dances and small choreographies created during the course work was presented by the children in the performance “Little Feet, Big Dances!” on December 17, 2024, at Studio 1 of the Uferstudios. The presentation took place as part of the “LUNA PARK – dance artistic transitions” program of the LUNA PARK initiative, in cooperation with the Gesundbrunnen Primary School and the kindergartens “Kunterbunt”, “Der kleine Muck”, “Bärenbande”, and “Weltkinder”.
